REST is a screening technique, especially developed to screen large volumes of cargo simultaneously. An employee takes a sample of air from closed units like trailers, containers or ULDs. One dog will check this sample on possible explosives.
REST is an excellent screening method for large shipments of delicate and valuable cargo. The cargo does not need to be unloaded and reloaded again which saves a lot of time and decreases the risk of damage to a minimum.
